PEFC Chain of Custody Auditor Training
Auditors from around Southeast Asia are invited to join the PEFC Chain of Custody auditor training session. The exact dates will be announced shortly. Sign up now!
PEFC aims to ensure and further improve the quality of audits for CoC certification. As part of its overall system integrity program, PEFC requires that CoC auditors participate in PEFC recognized training.
PEFC International and NCCF are organizing a regional PEFC CoC training. It will combine the expertise of PEFC International in delivering the training and local network and knowledge of NGB and participants. Certification Bodies can nominate their auditors to attend this training.
PEFC Chain of Custody
PEFC CoC certification provides independently verified assurance that certified wood contained in a product originates from well-managed forests. In addition, PEFC Due Diligence System (DDS) minimizes the risk that timber comes from illegal harvesting and enables companies to demonstrate alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g. EUTR). The PEFC DDS is an integral part of PEFC CoC certification. The entire flow of wood material from the forest to the consumer must be monitored and documented to demonstrate its origin. This evidence is known as the Chain of Custody (CoC).
PEFC CoC certification is available worldwide and opens to all companies that manufacture, process, trade, or sell forest-based products. For more read on PEFC’s website.
Online training dates and timings will be announced soon.
The PEFC CoC Auditor Training will be open to auditors in India and outside India, preferably auditors from other South Asian countries. 20 seats are reserved for Indian auditors and 20 for other auditors. NCCF (PEFC NGB) and National Accreditation Board (NABCB) can also take part in the training.
Note: Participation of other PEFC NGBs and ABs is possible if seats are not filled by auditors.
Training will be conducted by Mr. Richard Laity, PEFC International, Projects and Development Officer South East Asia. He is a PEFC International approved CoC Trainer (PEFC ST 2002:2020).
The online training will be based on interaction, practical examples, open question and answer sessions, and dedicated group work. It will present PEFC Chain of Custody Certification, PEFC Trademarks, and the PEFC Due Diligence System (DDS).
Training will include course material, PEFC documentation, certificate of attendance, access to PEFC’s Online Training Platform, etc.
Participants will be required to complete an online knowledge test after completion of the in-person training. Post evaluation of results, the qualified participant will receive a PEFC Certificate as qualified PEFC Chain of Custody Auditors from PEFC International.
